cable for intercom system

ok folks. I am in need of the cable that hooks to the bike that the lower headset cable hooks in to. Not sure of the name of the part but as I am sitting on the bike its in front of me on the left. I had a short in the cable and when I pulled the lower headset cable out the end of the plug came with it. I tried to rewire it but not knowing which color wire goes where I was afraid to mess something up. So if anybody is parting out a first gen and know if the cable you have is compatable with my 91 vr let me know. I would rather buy my part from friends instead of a stealor..
