loadmaster Posted July 29, 2009 #1 Posted July 29, 2009 hi folks, i tore down the rear end today in preparation for new rubber, i pulled the drive shaft and the engine end spline was dry, my question is , is the rear spline lubed by the final drive oil, this is a 1988 venture royal, second question i also changed the fork oil, will the class system raise the front end when you pump it in manually, mine reads 22 psi when it cuts off, thanks in advance.
MiCarl Posted July 29, 2009 #2 Posted July 29, 2009 Splines are not lubed by final drive oil. Use moly grease on them. Max pressure setting for front on the CLASS is 21PSI. I can't help you with the raising question because I have aftermarket springs that keep the forks fully extended until my fat azz is in the seat. I run them at 0 PSI.
Squeeze Posted July 29, 2009 #3 Posted July 29, 2009 The REAR Spline is lubed by "thrown" Oil up from the Ring Gear. But a little Moly60 on the Splines would be a good Idea. Just don't clogg thoses two Holes with the Grease.
