Squidley Posted July 28, 2009 Share #4 Posted July 28, 2009 When father wants you to come home, anything is possible. The odds of that happening the way they did are staggering
Marcarl Posted July 28, 2009 Share #5 Posted July 28, 2009 When father wants you to come home, anything is possible. The odds of that happening the way they did are staggering Just goes to show you that the Lord of heaven and earth does have control, even over the trees.!.! Tough on the family and friends though, but what a way to go, one minute you're healthy and vibrant and the next you're in the land of perfection. No slow degration, sickness, pain or anything else like that. Guess it would be good planning, to live every minute as our last. Best be on good terms with our Maker before the tree falls. Yama Mama Posted July 28, 2009 Share #6 Posted July 28, 2009 That is truly a sad story. I am sure the family will be in shock for sometime. I do not know what the odds of that happening to someone are, but it probably would be similar to getting struck by lightening standing at the kitchen sink. I will pray for his poor family. Sylvester Posted July 28, 2009 Share #7 Posted July 28, 2009 Same thing happened to a bicycelist about twenty five years ago in my home city of Omaha, NE. Totally unpredictable that a seemingly healthy tree would fall at the exact moment some poor soul was riding under it.

Bigfoot Posted July 28, 2009 Share #9 Posted July 28, 2009 Wow. So sad for the family. I try and walk a few miles every other day and I walk alongside a 4 lane residential road on the sidewalk. I walk halfway down one side and turn to come back at a set point. Just up the street I see a very large branch laying on a crushed chain link fence. This was a huge brance and ruined a 10 foot section of fence. I just walked under there and missed it by only seconds/minutes. Don't know if it would have killed me or not but it certainly would have hurt big time. You just never know.
