Lone Eagle Posted July 27, 2009 #1 Posted July 27, 2009 Not m/c related, but do any of you have a recommendation for a hand held camcoder? The wife wants to get one (to put onto a tripod) to tape her dance class, and I am thinking that getting one that would also then work on the bike - maybe even mounting the thing - might "kill two birds with one stone" - heehee. Don't want to spend a ton of money - went onto Amazon - and looks like they have a bunch under $350.00/$400.00 - but if I could even get on for slightly less than that - that would be cool as well. Thanks in advance for any feedback - input.
BuddyRich Posted July 28, 2009 #2 Posted July 28, 2009 Something that can take the vibration from the bike....
RedRider Posted July 28, 2009 #3 Posted July 28, 2009 Depending on what type of dance class, you might be able to get several of the fellas from here to do the video for nothin'. RR
friesman Posted July 28, 2009 #4 Posted July 28, 2009 (edited) Hi Vic, I hope youre doing well. This Sanyo Xacti works well for me, i use it as a solid state camcorder and as a still digital camera. I velcroed a regular mini tripod to my handlebars on my bike and it worked fairly well even with the vibration, it has a anti shake setting on it. ( i have solid motor mounts, not rubber) I have dropped this camera a few times and it seems to take the abuse well. I also like the fact the it is held like a handgun, so one hand operation works well for when its on the bike or in a crowd. It is also easy to run with one button operation. I use a couple of 4 gig sd cards and the hold lots of video. http://sanyo.com/xacti/english/products/vpc_ca9/index.html Here are some links to youtube for the videos I took while it was attached to my handlebars.
