Yama Mama Posted July 27, 2009 #1 Posted July 27, 2009 http://www.ridinon.com/archives/2009_02/2009_02_p16.jpgThis past Sunday we were riding in Indiana and met this unique motorcyclist with a very unique motorcycle. Here are photos. There are 67 silver dollars that all date back into the 1800's.I of course, did not bring my camera. I will try to get better photos when I see him again. He lives in Guilford, Indiana. http://www.ridinon.com/archives/2009_02/2009_02_c01.jpg

Mariner Fan Posted July 27, 2009 #7 Posted July 27, 2009 Works now! Strange what some folks will do to their bikes.

Yama Mama Posted July 28, 2009 Author #11 Posted July 28, 2009 Here are the only photos that I have of this bike, and these are from many years ago. I will do better next time I see it. By the way, what kind of bike is this? Yama Mama

juggler Posted July 28, 2009 #13 Posted July 28, 2009 Wow, talk about adding some chrome. Lets see the dry weight of that bike is about 840lbs. With the chrome and coins it must weigh in near 1400-1500lbs? Plus the big dude rider? How does it move?
Yama Mama Posted July 28, 2009 Author #14 Posted July 28, 2009 (edited) The owner figures around 1100lbs. With the lower chrome for the footpads, he had trouble putting the kickstand down. So the designer of the bike, who is not the owner now designed a hand lever up on the dash to lower the kickstand with ease. The photos that I posted here, do not show the lower foot pads that I am talking about. Those were added later after my photos were taken. You can see them on the magazine cover. The owner traded a 66 Mustang and an older Corvette for this bike. Yama Mama Edited July 28, 2009 by Yama Mama
Snaggletooth Posted July 28, 2009 #15 Posted July 28, 2009 I guess I'll quit grumbling about my insurance rates now. That's gotta be an interesting policy for coverage.
loehring Posted July 28, 2009 #16 Posted July 28, 2009 So that's what you Yankees do in the winter when there's too much snow to ride.:rotfl:
Yama Mama Posted July 28, 2009 Author #17 Posted July 28, 2009 Well now, you do not know for sure this was built up north. I never said that. But we do look up Grandmother's silver coin collections in the non riding season. YamaMama
Aussie Annie Posted July 31, 2009 #18 Posted July 31, 2009 Is that just the latest place to keep your coin for the parking meters??
Yama Mama Posted July 31, 2009 Author #19 Posted July 31, 2009 Annie I do not think you would want to put one of those in the meter. Everyone of those silver dollars are worth a lot of money. I would rather not say how much, but believe me they are worth a lot. Yama Mama:hurts:
