ibsaw Posted September 17, 2007 #1 Posted September 17, 2007 hey guys, my 06 venture is spewing raw gas from the left side exhaust, and the vent tubing under the right side air cleaner. I'm guessing a float is stuck. any ideas or thoughts ?
WARider Posted September 17, 2007 #2 Posted September 17, 2007 Yep, float is stuck. I wasn't able to tap mine loose. I had to tear the carbs off to unstick it.
gibvel Posted September 17, 2007 #3 Posted September 17, 2007 hey guys, my 06 venture is spewing raw gas from the left side exhaust, and the vent tubing under the right side air cleaner. I'm guessing a float is stuck. any ideas or thoughts ? Tap the float bowls with the butt end of a screw driver and see if that helps. Have you used Seafoam lately. May be time to put some in (a can to a half a tank of gas), get it into the carbs and leave it sit over night. I'm sure others will be along to offer more suggestions.
BuddyRich Posted September 17, 2007 #4 Posted September 17, 2007 Its under warranty for 4 more years. If tapping don't work then let the dealer fix it. They really can't say its your fault as the system has a filter in it also.
ibsaw Posted September 17, 2007 Author #5 Posted September 17, 2007 yes still under warranty but i dont want to waste prime riding time with mybike at the dealer you know
BOO Posted September 18, 2007 #6 Posted September 18, 2007 Mine was doing that at the start of this season, floats were not stuck but there must have been something holding the needle valve open. Took them apart and cleaned them, works fine. By the way there is a real good write up in the tech section on how to do this very thing. Even if the float is stuck sometimes you have to take them apart to fix the problem. Jerry
