Black Owl Posted July 25, 2009 #1 Posted July 25, 2009 I am working on a deal to get some Rocky Mountain Oysters aka Calf Fries/Swinging Serloin/Tendergroin... Anyone else attending the Pork in the Pines Pig Roast interested? www.porkinthepines.com
Wrongway Posted July 25, 2009 #2 Posted July 25, 2009 Damn Russel, with the gizzards and now this... I don't think I may ever be able to go near a restaurant with you again! . Still trying to swing it to get there this year, just not looking too good.
pick Posted July 25, 2009 #5 Posted July 25, 2009 WOW, haven't had them since early 70's on Washington Island, in Door County Wis.
buddy Posted July 25, 2009 #6 Posted July 25, 2009 For city folk not knowing what Calf Fries are?. Put it plain and simple "Calf nuts". Me being a farm boy, that turns my stomach, especially watching someone eat those things....Sick
Yammer Dan Posted July 25, 2009 #7 Posted July 25, 2009 Rocky Mountain Oysters! More of the same thing. No Thanks..
Bubber Posted July 26, 2009 #9 Posted July 26, 2009 Wrapped in chicken wings? I don't think so! Bubber
mini-muffin Posted July 26, 2009 #10 Posted July 26, 2009 Not many takers on the little boys are there? Margaret
BuckShot Posted July 26, 2009 #11 Posted July 26, 2009 Well I know brats, etc. are better in natural caseings. Mountain men used to wash the caseing out and fry them in fat. It was a treat for them.
eagleeye Posted July 26, 2009 #12 Posted July 26, 2009 Where do you come up with this stuff? How about we sit around the fire, drink, laugh, and watch you eat them, then laugh some more? I'll pass too, Steve
kantornado Posted July 27, 2009 #13 Posted July 27, 2009 To bad we can not make it Russ, I would be happy to help you eat a pound or two. Love them bull ding-a-lings When I was on the farm and we would denut the Bulls that was good eaten. Kinda tastes like chicken....LOL. There used to be a resuraunt in Severence Colo that Rocky Mountain Oysters were there claim to fame. I had many a plate there......................Ron
