Yammer Dan Posted July 22, 2009 #1 Posted July 22, 2009 Clutch lever not returning as it should. I ordered push rod and bushing. This should cure that shouldn't it?
Venturous Randy Posted July 22, 2009 #2 Posted July 22, 2009 Clutch lever not returning as it should. I ordered push rod and bushing. This should cure that shouldn't it? If you take the lever off and push on the piston, does it come back all the way? I have seen them get a lot of slop in them from not being lubed and maybe binding in the bushing, but have not had a problem with the piston not returning. RandyA
Yammer Dan Posted July 22, 2009 Author #3 Posted July 22, 2009 Going to clean and lube but I'm thinking bushing is worn.
Skid Posted July 22, 2009 #4 Posted July 22, 2009 I'd think with all the bikes you would have a few spare parts.....
Condor Posted July 22, 2009 #5 Posted July 22, 2009 If it's not binding anywhere then the return action comes from the clutch springs in the basket. You might also have crud in the lines that's acting like a one-way valve. This usually results in a slipping clutch. Bleed the heck out of the system if the bushing and push rod don't cure things.
Yammer Dan Posted July 22, 2009 Author #6 Posted July 22, 2009 I'd think with all the bikes you would have a few spare parts..... Just putting this one togather right. I Don't want it slipping when needed!!! Thanks jack.
