craigatcsi Posted July 21, 2009 #1 Posted July 21, 2009 Lately, I have seen a couple 2nd Gens with the Fairing 'Whiskers' removed - I like the look. Are they just held on with double-sided tape? I already took the Yamaha label off the trunk, which came off okay, but the tape & glue were stubborn. I used a heat gun and WD-40. craigr

Yes, those are double sided taped on.. you can slice the tape through with good flood or spider wire fishing line.. On a mid-cold day you can roll the tape goo up.. if you use chemicals, I find it makes such a mess.. All my bikes are de-badged.. If Yamaha wants to pay me to advertise for them, I'll be more than happy to put the badges back on.. Prolly why I'd never own a Harley.. everything is stamped HD on it.. sigh.. Did you take the ones off the tank sides?
Monsta Posted July 21, 2009 #3 Posted July 21, 2009 I'd really like a set of those "eyebrows" if they come off uninjured. I'd like to put them on my saddlebag lids.
craigatcsi Posted July 21, 2009 Author #4 Posted July 21, 2009 Are the Badges on the Tank just Taped on too? My old bike, they were screwed to the side of the tank, had to fill in with Body Putty.

Surprising how many people walk up and compliment me on my nice Harley.. huh??
