Bowhuntinfool Posted July 21, 2009 #1 Posted July 21, 2009 If I wanted to buy a second generation venture, are there any model years or serial number range that anyone would recommend staying away from? I currently have a 89 venture royal that has been down since late apirl when i had to start looking for an igniter. I have one now but it is still not back on the road. I am seriously considering going to something say 1999 or newer. Thanks, Jim
Tom Posted July 21, 2009 #2 Posted July 21, 2009 All the 2nd gens are basically the same from 99 up. Mine has been maintenance free but does have the so called clutch whine..not that noticible unless you stay fixed on it.
flb_78 Posted July 21, 2009 #3 Posted July 21, 2009 The only things that have changed between 99 and 09 are the colors, seats, and 09 comes with a factory CD changer.
BuddyRich Posted July 21, 2009 #4 Posted July 21, 2009 The 99's had some problems with trunks cracking. They fixed that in the 2000 model.
Steve S Posted July 22, 2009 #8 Posted July 22, 2009 Go BLACK and you will never go back... unless it's to look for the slower, other colors. :stirthepot:
frogmaster Posted July 22, 2009 #9 Posted July 22, 2009 I thought I read they "Redesigned" the Rear shock for 2008 and beyond!!!
