I understand Curtis, I have seen the results of a plug and what it can do to a tire. I'm just very cautious when it comes to tires, due to some of the things I have seen while being a tire store manager

I am very disapointed in this thread.

When I read the title "screw in tire" my first thought was "great, thats got to be easier than removing the bags, wheel, and poping that devil over the bead!!! Just screw it on!!!":clap2:

Give these plugs a look. One of the best kits I've ever had. Really well made. I've got a set in my saddle bags. Excellent instructions come with them.

When I read this thread for the first time I thought they were talking about something else. Then I thought the next thing you would see here was talk about the loose screw:sign just kidding: on the seat. LOL I guess I needed to slow down and read better BTW I am ordering one of the plug kits looks good.

Almost new (2 weeks) Dunlop E3 rear, 500 miles, ran over something on freeway, quick deflation, almost lost bike and trailer two up at 65 mph. Plugged tire on side of freeway (trimmed excess plug off at first stop) and continued trip. 12,000 miles later, same tire, same plug. New Dunlop E3 rear in garage ready to go on when this one wears out.

I really that a tire plug and a portable pump is a good addition to be permanently placed in the saddle bags especially on long trips. I should purchase a set for my bike in the near future.

I got to looking at the tire and some of the tread is messed up so I am going to change it and keep it for later if I need it. I priced a E3 and they are 135 at one dealer but he wants 90 to change it and 160 at another and they charge 45 to change it. Who has the best deals on tires? thanks

Order from SW Moto, and change it yourself: Not that hard to do, greese rear end and drive shaft, and install a bottle of Ride - On.
