Snarley Bill Posted July 18, 2009 #1 Posted July 18, 2009 took the new trailer i built for a test run today, behind my v- star. you must remember i am covering unknown ground here. amazingly, i could'nt tell it was back there. i put a few items in it for weight, but it did'nt seem to effect the bikes power. only took it up to 55 mph. planning on a long run tomorrow and 75 miles per hour. i have a hitch for my wing but haven't installed it yet. i don't like the idea of pulling a trailer, but i want to go camping. it sure does look stupid back there and i feel like a real ass. who cares you only go aroumd once.
Squidley Posted July 18, 2009 #2 Posted July 18, 2009 Stupid??? There are many of us that travel with trailers behind us, personally I couldn't see doing a week long trip without having either a trailer or basket on the hitch. Makes it so much easier to pack and not overload the bike. Just think of yourself as an adventurer speeding off into the wilderness
Snarley Bill Posted July 18, 2009 Author #3 Posted July 18, 2009 hey brad, you sound like linda. she thinks i sped off into the wilderness along time ago. :rotf:

LilBeaver Posted July 19, 2009 #15 Posted July 19, 2009 I had actually never considered pulling a trailer until I started poking around on this site... And then I found out about the camping trailers for motorcycles (Dr_bar showed me his) and boy oh boy I have been considering (one of these days when I actually make a little $$$) picking one of those up... It would sure beat the covered picnic tables at rest areas that I usually resort to. The downside is that the g/f would probably feel that 'if I have the space, it must be filled' :-P But yea, get on those pictures, it is nice to see what everyone has done and what options are out there Oh, my original response was aimed at the 'feeling stupid thing'... I have never really given a **** about what anyone else thinks anyways so if it takes a trailer to make the trips longer and more comfortable then bring it on and load it up!
