nats Posted September 16, 2007 #1 Posted September 16, 2007 Hi All, I have found that my hand is too big to change the headlamp bulb. I just can not reach it. I tried going on the left side above the headlight adjustment knob. Has anyone found an easy way to do this?
muffinman Posted September 16, 2007 #2 Posted September 16, 2007 Nats being a first gen rider I founf it very easy the first time I split the fairing on a second gen it only took me 10 min to split the fairing this is what I remember doing to Tims 05 I may have forgotten something but it was real easy. take out the screw under the headlamp then start with the screws on both sides of the fairing on the back side then remove the chrome windshield piece and the screws under it I am sure a 2 gen rider will post on this Good luck Jeff
nats Posted September 16, 2007 Author #3 Posted September 16, 2007 Thanks Muffinmam, When I posted this, the similar threads box popped up and I also read from others. I will split fairing. Replacing with PIAA.
RedRider Posted September 17, 2007 #4 Posted September 17, 2007 Strangely enough, if you have a jack, just lifting the bike provides enough room to get your hand in behind the fairing. While on the ground, there was no way I could get into the bulb. Up on the jack, it was easy. However, it is pretty easy to split the fairing. RR
KiteSquid Posted September 17, 2007 #5 Posted September 17, 2007 I have large hands, so I split the faring..... I need to figure out how to get my hands in there, so I can change the bulb on a trip........ if it were to burn out....
