jimmyenglish Posted July 9, 2009 #1 Posted July 9, 2009 Hi guys! Just bought a couple IMC hsg35u's per recommendation in this forum. Very impressed with how well they work and how good they sound, especially for the $. I'm trying to figure is there any way to stop the radio from muting/turn down when we talk. We're both musicians and are constantly singing. Surely there must be an attenuation pot somewhere. Any ideas? Thanks!
utadventure Posted July 9, 2009 #2 Posted July 9, 2009 The outer dial on the intercom knob effects how sensitive the intercom VOX is. Dave
jimmyenglish Posted July 22, 2009 Author #3 Posted July 22, 2009 Mine doesn't have that. Was that an option? The only outer dials are the audio compensation knob and the tone control. I've fiddled with both and when I speak into the intercom mic, the audio diminishes. Any other ideas? Thanks!
MiCarl Posted July 22, 2009 #4 Posted July 22, 2009 It's the intercom knob that controls intercom volume (right knob, inner). It's not designed to do what you want, it's designed to mute the radio when the intercom is in use. The volume is supposed to be set high enough that a voice in the mic mutes the music but not so high that ambient noise interrupts the audio. You can turn the volume way down, but then it'll be difficult to hear the intercom over the music.
FreezyRider Posted July 22, 2009 #5 Posted July 22, 2009 A permanent fix: Buy a 2nd Gen. They don't have a VOX feature at all. Music never mutes when you talk. Wish I had a vox-enabled system, and NO I don't want to step down to a 1st Gen to get it! Joe
