JUJU Posted August 30, 2006 #1 Posted August 30, 2006 Hi as a new/old member after the crash of august I would like someones opinion. I have added Harley screaming eagle pipes to my Tour delux plus modified the air box and it is now poping and banging. The queastion is does anyone have an idea what size jets I need to start with on rejetting my carbs.
Eck Posted August 30, 2006 #2 Posted August 30, 2006 DONT THINK YOU NEED TO ....OR SHOULD ....REJET THE CARBS. disconect and plug the AIS..it wont pop at all......... You can either remove the entire AIS system... or... install (2) 3/4 inch in diameter by 1 inch long wooden dowels in the two hoses as specified in tech section. Works great.....and a whole lot cheaper......
Freebird Posted August 31, 2006 #3 Posted August 31, 2006 I agree...but it could depend on what extent you modified the air box. TOO much air would require re-jetting. Most people just start with one size larger in that case but to be honest, it's a long and laborious trial and error process. Not something that I would look forward to doing. Don
Freebird Posted August 31, 2006 #4 Posted August 31, 2006 By the way, there is a GREAT article in the tech library that covers this. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=502
