MasterGuns Posted July 5, 2009 #1 Posted July 5, 2009 a coolant called "Engine Ice". This stuff is proclaimed to be a high tech coolant that can reduce operating temps by as much as 50 degrees F. Before I have a couple gallons of this stuff shipped to me, since I can find it anywhere locally, I thought I'd check around with other members and see if anyone has installed this stuff and if they've noticed any improvement.
painterman67 Posted July 5, 2009 #2 Posted July 5, 2009 havent used engine ice but I have used water wetter with great results. David

barend Posted July 5, 2009 #4 Posted July 5, 2009 Got it in mine, temp needle runs middle of green! and no diluting! somewhat pricey
Condor Posted July 5, 2009 #5 Posted July 5, 2009 Herb, I used Royal Purple 'Purple Ice', and seems to work. Bought it at a NAPA store for around $10 bucks. Pro'bly the same properties as Engine Ice... Came in a small 8oz bottle and I added it to the coolant mix when flushing the '83. It doesn't take much. Just looked at the bottle and it's still pretty full. If I remember the instructions call for a couple of cap fulls per gallon, which is about what our motors take.
