Yammer Dan Posted July 4, 2009 #1 Posted July 4, 2009 I'm still looking for some transportation as Insurance jerks drag their feet. What do you think of a 2004 Saturn ION Level 2 Coupe 28k miles on it for $6950.00 Black and is pretty thing.
mini-muffin Posted July 4, 2009 #2 Posted July 4, 2009 Jeff said for you to get the Saab to the shop and get the clutch fixed. Save money that way too, you already own the Saab. Margaret
tonyc Posted July 4, 2009 #3 Posted July 4, 2009 My wife is driving a 2003 and loves it. I like it too.
Yammer Dan Posted July 4, 2009 Author #4 Posted July 4, 2009 Never mind. My luck is holding. I posted it and went back to look. Already gone!!! Jeff, Saab Dealer gave me price of 600 bucks labor! Going to try to beat that or put in myself.
Skid Posted July 4, 2009 #5 Posted July 4, 2009 There is a gold colored Pontiac Grand AM with an excellent body for $1800.00 here in town. Been for sale just a couple days.... Shoot me a PM if you're interested for the number.
Marcarl Posted July 4, 2009 #6 Posted July 4, 2009 If you Saab has an inline, which I think it does, my friend around the corner (used to do Saab's a lot) says it only takes him half an hour to change the clutch, really the easiest clutch he's ever changed. My was giving me greef when I had one, couple of years back, but it turned out to be a slow leak in the hydrolic system, maybe check it out with that in mind. Don't trade it if it's fixable,,, there's nothing like it anywhere's
Yammer Dan Posted July 4, 2009 Author #7 Posted July 4, 2009 This one is a 96 Carl and from what I read you have to pull the subframe, and jack up the engine to pull transmission to get to clutch. And it is a cable on this one. I thought 600 was a little high if you knew what you were doing.

Buying someone elses hidden problems can be a crap shoot. Good Luck.

Yammer Dan Posted July 4, 2009 Author #10 Posted July 4, 2009 (edited) Hmm, $7K new car; $700 fix car ....damn, what to do ... 'course i don't know what else is wrong with your Saab. you going to buy this new car outright? if not, you got payments, you want those with all this 'change' going on?? They sold it anyway don't have to worry about that one. The Saab would need a new exhaust about 400 bucks to pass inspection and is starting to have some issues with climate control. It still runs great with little over 100k. Edited July 4, 2009 by Yammer Dan
