bobcat Posted July 3, 2009 #1 Posted July 3, 2009 I can't seem to find the #4 flat washer needed to modify the carb needle...My local hardware store has #4 split washers and #6 flat washers but no #4 flats..Home Depot only has #6 flat... Any suggestions?
Venturous Randy Posted July 3, 2009 #2 Posted July 3, 2009 Do you have a Lowe's? They have them. RandyA
MasterGuns Posted July 3, 2009 #3 Posted July 3, 2009 Yes, I, too, found them at Lowes for a whopping 99 cents.
5bikes Posted July 4, 2009 #4 Posted July 4, 2009 I got some lock washers from a "cheapo" 12-16 drawer plastic cabinet for $10? Harbor Freight? I just used two pliers to flatten them out or use a hammer on the floor. Type not important. Getting the combination of the correct thickness of about 1/2 the thickness of the white spacer is all that is important. Star washers, flat washers, lock washers, shim stock, or a piece of aluminum cut to fit in the slide cavity of about .050" will work. Try Ace, Lowes, Home Depot, local hardware stores, what ya got laying around?
cimmer Posted July 4, 2009 #5 Posted July 4, 2009 I ended up using #6S brass washers I got from Home Depot. They are smaller in diameter then the regular #6 and worked very nicely for me. I ended up using 3 of them as each one measured out at .6 mm in thickness. Hope this helps. Rick F.
bobcat Posted July 4, 2009 Author #6 Posted July 4, 2009 I eventually found the #4 steel washers at Radio Shack...I didn't know those other washers would work also, but I do now.. Thanks
