Double D Posted September 11, 2007 Share #2 Posted September 11, 2007 I lost the passenger push to talk button on my '06 Midnight just a couple of months ago. You can not buy just the button and the dealer replaced the whole unit under warranty. ($300)
KeithR Posted September 11, 2007 Share #3 Posted September 11, 2007 I had mine replaced a month or so ago on warranty. The dealer did say that the service people offered to send just the button but I would have to glue it on....I think not! The dealer did mention to me that the Service people at Yamaha Head Office made a comment that this would be the last one they would be doing under warranty. So I guess they are trying to get out of replacing them, maybe if you have trouble getting them to replace the whole unit they can come up with the part number for just the button. Mine looked like it just screwed on. I have to put mine back in the shop so they can reroute the wires so they aren't hanging down on the fender and up inside where they belong ! It seems to be a common problem so the warranty shouldn't be an issue ! Good Luck Keith

When I took delivery of my NEW 2005 the passenger button knob was missing. The dealer counld only get the whole switch assembly. That sucks for just a 10 cent item. As it was under warrenty the service manger wanted to know how long it took me to replace the unit. I wanted to just canabilize the knob. Couldn't do it, had to replace it. Took ~an hour to figure out how to get it out and replaced.
