timgray Posted July 2, 2009 #1 Posted July 2, 2009 I have put a LOT of miles on the bike lately. I haven't driven a car for 3 weeks until this one plus a couple of 6 hour rides etc... I noticed that the rear diff at the fill plug I have seepage, is this normal? Should I worry or simply wash the bike and get get back to riding.
Steve S Posted July 2, 2009 #2 Posted July 2, 2009 Tim. You might tighten the plug a tad more. Unless it's running down the side of the gearbox, it's not hurting a thing. When it's leaking, you know there's oil in it...

If you don't have one, it should have one. If you do, then it needs to be replaced. You might try a Honda dealer for the washer. They seem to have a better price on them. Do NOT over torque the plug. You could strip out the threads which are aluminum. You might also have too much gear oil in the final??
