I noticed the leather pouches you had on the inside of the windshield in some of the pics you have posted, are they expensive?? and where can I order some ??

How secure are they ?? I wouldn't want anyone to pinch them after I installed !

I drilled out the two small rivets that hold each bag to the plastic backing plate.

I discarded the backing plate.

I then placed the bag on the windshield and marked the windshield as to where the two holes were for each bag. I did the center bag first aligning them by eye

Then I drilled the (6) small holes through the windshield. (2) holes for each bag

I then installed two small "black" allen head screws through the windshield from the front and through the same holes the rivets went throught the leather bags, then installed two chrome acorn nuts (per bag) on the inside edge of eadch bag so that the chrome acorn nut matched the chrome domes on each bag.

 

I received some comments that by drilling the windshield that the windshield will crack, but after two years of them being installed on it, the windshield never cracked at all.

In fact it never cracked even when I had my accident when I totaled the bike..

You drill the holes in the windshield just a "little" bit larger in diamerter then the diameter of the screw.. so you have some allowables for expansion and contraction..

You shouldn't get any cracking of the windshield, as long as you take your time drilling,

drill them just a little oversized for the bolts you are using, and most important----Do not over tighten the nuts and bolts when installing them..
