. . . Depending on where you live/ride you might want to re-think this idea. I didn't realize it was illegal to have amber lights on constant in the rear.....

One of the kits that Cruiser Customizing sells is an LED set up that switches from red to amber and back.:sign kewl:

Not sure what the 99 RSV has for rear turn signals. If they are using a lamp socket and 1156 lamp.... you can switch out the 1156 socket for an 1157 socket.

As stated, not sure exactly what they are using, but switching from an 1156 to an 1157 lamp socket is a fairly simple process. You will need to solder a ground to the 1157 socket and splice into the tail light wiring (that should be the blue wire) to get constant power to the low illumination filament.

If you run into no problemts you are looking at a 2 hour job and less than $15.00 in parts/wiring.

This is a neat system as are some of the others listed here. However, after doing some checking, GOLD RUSH is right. In most states it's illegal to run amber run or brake lights (on the rear of a bike) and illegal to run red turn signals on newer model bikes. Read carefully the description on these light kits and make sure that they comply with your local laws. One of the kits listed here has a disclaimer in their discription that says they are only legal for "show and off-road use." That wouldn't do much good on my bike! :080402gudl_prv:

I have the turn signal conversion kit from here... http://www.electricalconnection.com/ which retains the amber bulb for turn sig, but adds a ring of RED LED's at HALF brightness for running lights, and also changes to VERY BRIGHT RED LED's for auxiliary stop lights as well. I recommend it highly. I've always used the SOS Priority Lights in the past but this rocks way better. All trying to stay alive in Boston traffic at rush hour.
