Back from the circle tour around Lake Superior, What a great ride. Sunny and warm days the whole trip, except for Superior Wisconsin which we were told NEVER gets warm. And to those crazy Canadians, is 90km/hr just a mild suggestion as to what speed to drive? At 90 EVERYONE from Grandma on her way to bingo to the double loaded semi driver will run you over. So we made good time through Canada. If you are ever near the Keweenaw Peninsula you must drive M-26 from Eagle River to Copper Harbor, there's no better road in Michigan bar none. Now some of you may of heard of this, we went in a little restaurant and they had a Ruben sandwich, BUT instead of using corned beef, they used fresh caught Lake Superior White Fish. Sounded strange was VERY good. 83 VR ran great. Mileage from 36mpg (keeping in front of Canadians) to 48mpg just tooling around. If you have never done the circle tour it's worth doing. Saw quite a few 1st gens but only 2 2nd gens. Need the 1st gen speed to keep from being run over. lol.

Sounds like a good ride. Probably a lot more comfortable than here in georgia where its been in the 90's a couple days. I got cooked good yesterday while taking a long ride.

Are you sure you didn't make a detour to Arkansas? My wife and I were shocked when we went to visit my Sister there. We were in a minivan and the limit on a 2 lane hwy with no shoulders was 55. We were running a little late so pushing 70 mph. We got passed by an old lady who gave us the finger like we were holding her up or something. Trucks passed us like we were standing still. This was north east part of the state and was flat as a pancake so we could see forever...

I will 2nd this. I've made that run several times in the last couple of years (I lived in Marquette for 4 years -- so it was a great day ride) Only got snowed on a few of those times.

And those little places do some amazing things with the fresh whitefish! I sure miss that too.

Glad you had a great trip and made it home safe! :)

How long did it take to do the circle? About how many miles? Looks to be an excellent trip.

Left 8:00am Monday the 15th and got home at 9:30am Friday the 19th. Would of been back late Thursday but so many Deer was out when sun was going down did not want to chance the last 3 hours dodging Deer. 1950 miles.

Forgot to mention: :thumbsup2: to you Canadians. On Hwy 17 every time we pulled over to take pictures or any other reason all the cars and trucks that came by would stop and ask if we needed help. We were later told that if we were along side the road and nothing wrong just give the thumbs up sign and the drivers would just drive by. Also explained why when we passed someone pulled over they would give the thumbs up to us. What a good bunch of people.
