WilCruise Posted June 20, 2009 #1 Posted June 20, 2009 One of my turn signal seals was letting some water in. Popped a bulb. The water that got in seems to have rusted the bulb in place. Tried some gentler persuasion - then a bit less gentle with some needle nose pliers after the bulb glass broke. Anyone got suggestions on how to loosen this up to get it out without damaging the socket??
RandyR Posted June 20, 2009 #2 Posted June 20, 2009 A liberal dose of WD40 and let it soak... then back to the needle nose.
Sling Posted June 20, 2009 #3 Posted June 20, 2009 Should be easy now that the glass is broken. Use a pair of snap ring pliers that spread when you sqeeze the handles. This should give you the mechanical advantage you need. Now you can push in and twist, The bulb should come out. Hope this helps you.
Squidley Posted June 20, 2009 #4 Posted June 20, 2009 A liberal dose of WD40 and let it soak... then back to the needle nose. Thats how I would do it too

Sylvester Posted June 20, 2009 #6 Posted June 20, 2009 And when you get it out put dielectric grease on the new one before installing. Might as well do all of them with the grease.
Venturous Randy Posted June 22, 2009 #7 Posted June 22, 2009 And, make sure you fix the leak!! RandyA
