cb1313 Posted June 18, 2009 #1 Posted June 18, 2009 Which stator upgrade is the best ? Websites for the stators ? thanks
Freebird Posted June 18, 2009 #2 Posted June 18, 2009 From what I have read here, there is only one that is really worthwhile and it is the one from Buckeye Performance. http://www.buckeyeperformance.com
Snaggletooth Posted June 18, 2009 #3 Posted June 18, 2009 I ride a 1st gen and needed to upgrade a failing stator. After reading everything I could find on the different ones available and the comments from riders who had bought from other makers I went with the Buckeye unit. I am more than happy with the change. Ricks unit is well made and quality all the way. I can run all my lights (Rear light bar, side markers, front fender light, 2 55 watt driving lights, and stock head light and rear tail light) and still show no less than 13.7 on the digital volt meter at 2,000 rpm or better. At an idle with all lights lit up and the brake light on the lowest it showed was 13.1. Just running the stock lights it keeps a charge of about 14.5 to 14.7 going to the juice box. And the one for the 2nd gen provides more amps than a 1st gen so you can judge from there. Mike
Tartan Terror Posted June 19, 2009 #4 Posted June 19, 2009 Go with the one from Buckeye. I installed one in my bike on the suggestion of a few members here and Im very happy. Ruffy has a thread on here detailing his experience.
