Pic Posted June 15, 2009 #26 Posted June 15, 2009 I rode but had a deadline, so it was earlier than usual. Saw one other bike. We don't have rain forecast, but we do have lotsa heat. The thought of commuting home in 95F heat might discourage some. Dave I rode, supposed to be 95 here in North Texas this afternoon also. At least not as much humidity as Houston, but Saturday afternoon was brutal. 100 at my house with 78% humidity.
Bret in Houston Posted June 15, 2009 #27 Posted June 15, 2009 But I do, nearly everyday. There has to be extremely high probability for rain 70-100%, before I cage it. 4600 miles on new VStar since, early May. My therapist has 2 wheels you see.
silverdeer0454 Posted June 15, 2009 #28 Posted June 15, 2009 I ride everyday to work, 25 miles one way. I just called work and there are 7 motorcycles in the employee parking lot most belong to Tribal Gaming Agents (my group). When I go this afternoon that will make 8. Love working at the Casino!
The Black Pearl Posted June 15, 2009 #29 Posted June 15, 2009 Its 75 and sunny here, and with my rain gear i ride 65 miles to work everyday did notice alot of bikes this am was nice to see
Snarley Bill Posted June 15, 2009 #30 Posted June 15, 2009 was'nt to many bikes out this morning i think i was the only nut. i don't mind the rain. i won't leave home in the rain but if i get caught in it i can cope with it. been through hurricane ike and a few tornados so i just figure go with the flow.
BuddyRich Posted June 15, 2009 #31 Posted June 15, 2009 I work at home this week, Guess I could go ride around the block...
campfire12 Posted June 15, 2009 #33 Posted June 15, 2009 Rode the venture in like i do everyday it's not raining so bad. Nice day here in east Ohio but diden't notice any more bikes then usual.
Flyinfool Posted June 15, 2009 #34 Posted June 15, 2009 I rode the Venture in to w$%k today. Only saw one other bike on the road in 21 miles. As long as I can get to work dry I take the bike. I don't have any rain gear yet. If its hot out I don't care if I get wet on the way home.
friesman Posted June 15, 2009 #35 Posted June 15, 2009 I had to ride in to work today whether it was ride to work day or not! Not a cloud in the sky and a high or around 30c (around 87-88F) not much wind, a great day to ride!!! Brian
SteveW Posted June 15, 2009 #36 Posted June 15, 2009 Yep rode to work. From my garage to the shop ( about 200 feet ) LOL
BigBoyinMS Posted June 15, 2009 #37 Posted June 15, 2009 I took the Road Star to work today with the plan of swapping for the RSV at lunch. Forgot my keys and had to turn right around. Got halfway home and it seems to be a piece of trash in the pilot circuit so I drove the truck back with plans of getting the RSV at lunch. Of course, the guy that I work with had to be off today because of a sick cat so I didn't get to leave at lunch. Soooooo... Yes, I rode to work and the bike was there for about 30 seconds.
aspen60 Posted June 15, 2009 #39 Posted June 15, 2009 Always ride, as long as its above 40 and not raining when I leave. Didn't see any more bikes than normal however. I do love that ride home!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BIG TOM Posted June 16, 2009 #40 Posted June 16, 2009 I rode to work today, but I have to tell you there were very few bike out today..don't know why...78 and sunny...

pktexas Posted June 16, 2009 #43 Posted June 16, 2009 I did on my Venture, my wife on her 1100, but we ride to work everyday anyway. And our son rode to work on his R6 in this houston heat. Hot Hot Hot...
footsie Posted June 16, 2009 #44 Posted June 16, 2009 Like every other day I rode to work, Has to be a hurricane to stop me. Well I won't leave home in a hurricane, but if its a mile away I'm good. freedom of the road for all Gregg
SaltyDawg Posted June 16, 2009 #45 Posted June 16, 2009 Everyday is ride to work day for me. Rain/shine/hot/cold/tropical storm it doesn't matter. Even rode with snow on the road/ground. Yesterday threatened rain all day, today it did rain.
mucho wano Posted June 16, 2009 #46 Posted June 16, 2009 Certainly. Ride every day; except when it snows of course.
sarges46 Posted June 16, 2009 #47 Posted June 16, 2009 I normally dont ride to work as I dont like leaving my bike in the jail parking lot. Its not a protected area even with camera's on it at all times. But, I worked last night all night and yes I did ride the bike. I was refreshing to get on it this morning and feel the wind at 6 am.
Guest seuadr Posted June 16, 2009 #49 Posted June 16, 2009 nope.. i walked to work. i am a ful ltime student with the summer off, restoring the house we just bought is my job for now
