Venturous Randy Posted June 15, 2009 #1 Posted June 15, 2009 I have to say that I did not. To me is was "National 50% chance of rain and thunderstorms this afternoon day" and I decided to not do it. I know, I wussed out. RandyA
calperin Posted June 15, 2009 #3 Posted June 15, 2009 Of course, I had to test my new stebel on the highway.... I found some ass .... to scare.
Sling Posted June 15, 2009 #4 Posted June 15, 2009 Calling for here also, but yes I rode!! I normally ride everyday. Didn't notice any more bikes then usual..
YamaDuck Posted June 15, 2009 #5 Posted June 15, 2009 30% chance of rain today but I rode in just the same. There was 1 other motorcycle in the parking lot when I arrived. So much for standing together here where I live.
Cerviperus Posted June 15, 2009 #6 Posted June 15, 2009 I rode my wheelchair in... does that count? Man I can't wait until I get out of this leg brace and can do some riding again.
Dave77459 Posted June 15, 2009 #8 Posted June 15, 2009 I rode but had a deadline, so it was earlier than usual. Saw one other bike. We don't have rain forecast, but we do have lotsa heat. The thought of commuting home in 95F heat might discourage some. Dave
Guest HdHtr Posted June 15, 2009 #9 Posted June 15, 2009 I gave up on working but I rode today anyway ... when I got home wifeypoo had a bunch of stuff for me to do ... that's sorta like working isn't it? Beginning to think I should of rode longer!!
Indyventure Posted June 15, 2009 #10 Posted June 15, 2009 Absolutely..but just like every other day for me. it is a VR day!
dynodon Posted June 15, 2009 #11 Posted June 15, 2009 I work in my basement and garage, but when I finish my "packing and lifting" of orders, I will ride my bike to the Post Office and UPS. So yes, I will ride my bike AT work today!
MasterGuns Posted June 15, 2009 #12 Posted June 15, 2009 Yes, I did ride a bike to work today; 57 miles one way. But I rode the 03 Ultra Classic today. My 86 Yamaha Venture Royale is just too clean to get dirty. So was the Hardley but I rather muck it up than the Royale. Shirt and tie even; suit coat rolled up in the trunk.
polecat54 Posted June 15, 2009 #13 Posted June 15, 2009 Whats a little rain bike needed wash anyway:depressed:
Venturous Randy Posted June 15, 2009 Author #14 Posted June 15, 2009 Well, the 50% chance is coming down real hard right now. The weather radar is in the red stage here. RandyA
Richard Posted June 15, 2009 #15 Posted June 15, 2009 I did, and on the Venture ,you keep that 50% up on the mountain
Venturous Randy Posted June 15, 2009 Author #16 Posted June 15, 2009 I did, and on the Venture ,you keep that 50% up on the mountain Richard, I hate to tell you this, but this one is coming south east and guess where you are from me. Yep, I hope you have your rain gear if you are going to be out. I doubt it will last long and will be better soon. RandyA
frogmaster Posted June 15, 2009 #17 Posted June 15, 2009 (edited) Work form home office today so used Wireless and moved PC to Garage where my Bike is... Will go for a ride at lunch and around 5pm to show solidarity with fellow bikers. Edited June 15, 2009 by frogmaster spelling
chabicheka Posted June 15, 2009 #18 Posted June 15, 2009 no i did not ride to work today....but later on, today, i will be riding AWAY from work. all this house work makes me want to get away. and what better way than to jump on the bike and 'venture' out?
Naked Rider Posted June 15, 2009 #19 Posted June 15, 2009 not today raining when i got up and is still raining with lighting and thunder:headache:
Snarley Bill Posted June 15, 2009 #21 Posted June 15, 2009 50% chance of rain today and i rode home from work in all 50% of it. no rain gear. did'nt get to wet. as long as i don't stop to much, i stay dry on my majesty scooter. i hit rain at least once or twice a week.
Guest tx2sturgis Posted June 15, 2009 #22 Posted June 15, 2009 Work? On a Monday? I havent worked on a Monday in about 15 years. I understand some folks do though.
Lilsis Posted June 15, 2009 #23 Posted June 15, 2009 I rode home from work this morning. Does that count??? Saw two bike, but this was out in the country. I'll ride back to work tonight. I'm learning to ride in the rain (twice on back roads) and it's a bit different but I want to do it some more so I can feel comfortable in any weather.
YamaDuck Posted June 15, 2009 #24 Posted June 15, 2009 30% chance of rain today but I rode in just the same. There was 1 other motorcycle in the parking lot when I arrived. So much for standing together here where I live. Well I guess I should have been more specific. I road the Road Star today not the Venture. Venture is in the shop getting a good once over to get her ready for the 11,000 mile trip next month.
