The splitter will help you set the SWR but will not do it all. I just worked on mine this past week.

Hook up the SWR meter and using the pot on the splitter, adjust it to get your best reading on the meter. The channel you are on at this point is not important but I used 20 as it's in the middle of the spectrum. Now you can adjust the antenna to match up to the radio using normal procedures. It helped my system quite a bit but I still have some bugs to work through.

I'm not absolutely sure Lowell, but I think that adjuster on the splitter is for the radio??? The CB antena will need to be tuned by itself. I've seen some CB ants. that are preadjusted but the wire lead is too long for a bike. Maybe the CB antena set up from a Venture will work without messin' with the antena length???

Adjusting the " Length " of the Antenna, is what sets the SWR.

The splitter pot is just to Peak the radio Reception. Use an AM Station.

Install SWR meter in line, to adjust the Antenna length for SWR.

If you still have stock antenna, leave it about where it was.

If you have an aftermarket CB antenna, start at about the Center of the Adjustable amount supplied by the Ant. mfgr, Its probably allready in the ball park.

always connect the SWR meter right at the CB....followed by the splitter then antenna. With the splitter alone I could getit down only to 2:1. W/o splitter could get to 1.5:1. I decided to just add a CB ant. on the other side. Removed the center coil from the stock ant and the results are better CB (1.2:1 swr)and better AM-FM performance. Do NOT connect 2 identical antennas(center loaded) on each side of the bike(1 CB, 1 AM/FM). You will never get your SWR to be good and end up frying your CB. It's called simply ...coupling effect.
