Bigfoot Posted June 15, 2009 #1 Posted June 15, 2009 Question for anyone using a tank bag. I'd like to use a tank bag on my upcoming long trip with my 04 RSV. I'm curious if the magnets will be an issue with the plug and holder mount on the side of the tank. Seems this would keep a magnet from making good contact.
Wrongway Posted June 15, 2009 #2 Posted June 15, 2009 I use a magnetic tank bag on all my long trips. Never had any problem with it holding, even over the cords. I do have a problem with the handlebars hitting the bag when it's full and expanded though. Just be aware.
Midrsv Posted June 15, 2009 #3 Posted June 15, 2009 I use a Nelson Rigg tank bag for long trips to keep the cell phone, camera and other small item handy. It lays right over the headset cord with no problem and like Wrongway said you have to be aware that the bars will hit the bag when turned fully to one side. It's not posed a problem for me. Also, you have to move it out of the way for refueling. Here's a link to the one I use. Bigfoot Posted June 15, 2009 Author #4 Posted June 15, 2009 Thanks guys. I've seen some pretty big bags out here and wondered how one sees their speedo, gps or whatever. Or worse, hit the end of the handlebars when turning.
