Guest curtismiller Posted June 14, 2009 #1 Posted June 14, 2009 I am 6/2 and 260.The seat on my 07 rsv kept inching me to the front and the padding is too soft for a fat boy.Talked to Mark at Diamond seat and he said this is a common complaint among large riders with this bike.Using this info. and my weight and inseam he made me a seat. The seat is smooth with stiching only around the sides.Made from heavy naugahide and said to outlast leather and looks great.I promise this is not a comercial for them but the seat is great.Made all the difference in the world .No more sore butt.I did not like the feel of this bike at all untill the seat change.I wanted to share this so if someone is having this problem there is a fix. curtis
Mariner Fan Posted June 14, 2009 #3 Posted June 14, 2009 Glad you found a solution Curtis. I'm the same size as you so I know what your talking about.
Guest curtismiller Posted June 15, 2009 #4 Posted June 15, 2009 Fat boy comfort.Tilted more upward than stock with less angle on seat back.Made me an all dayer. curtis
berg Posted June 15, 2009 #5 Posted June 15, 2009 What was your old seat and are you interested in selling it
Guest curtismiller Posted June 15, 2009 #6 Posted June 15, 2009 My stock seat is like new.Have no idea what they are worth.Would sell it but will ask the going price.Which I have no clue.Tell me something?
berg Posted June 16, 2009 #7 Posted June 16, 2009 Is it a pillow seat or midnight post a picture if you can what model and year would help as well
ahoutzer Posted June 16, 2009 #9 Posted June 16, 2009 That makes the stock seat a pillow-top seat. For 2007, even the Midnight models came with the pillow-top seats. It looks like only the rider seat was replaced, right -- not the passenger seat?
BigBoyinMS Posted June 16, 2009 #10 Posted June 16, 2009 Hey Curtis... from the pic it's looks as if you have a backrest. Did you have to readjust it or change it in any way? If I got a seat made just wondering if it affects using the backrest in anyway. I'm just under 6' and 300lbs and the pillow seat isn't bad but could be better. But I would keep the pillow before getting rid of the backrest.
Guest curtismiller Posted June 16, 2009 #12 Posted June 16, 2009 Yes my 07 stock is a pillow type seat.Make me an offer if you wont it and we can go from there. The backrest is adjustable up and down and back and forward and works with both seats. And I will never part with it..Purchassed the Diamond seat for 330.00.Was less than some of the name brand stuff.Had 90 day waiting period.Like I said I did not like this bike untill I but this seat on it.The stock seat is fine for a normal size rider. You might say I sort of ate myself into the custom seat. Curtis
Brake Pad Posted June 18, 2009 #14 Posted June 18, 2009 just wondering, I also have the 07, and I'm 6'4" 260, just looking at it, does it, make your pants tighter at the groin area? harder to shift? this are real questions. as I also slid forward, on my bike
Guest curtismiller Posted June 18, 2009 #15 Posted June 18, 2009 Brake Pad.The slide forward part is what I was trying to fix. This seat angles you more backward correcting that. The padding is a lot more firmer than stock and the no seams allows you to easely shift your butt around without knotting your crouch.I would sell this bike before I would ride that stock seat again. Also it is a little wider at the front to help keep your legs apart farther. It gives me the posture I like .Just an opinon as we are all shaped different. You and I are fairly close in size so it might work for you. Come on over and you can taker for a spin. Curtis
