What is with the Smileys

I use the smiley that has the farmer hat and wheat straw out of the mouth, since I have a mini farm and love the country. Many times I cannot find it, and sometimes if I keep scrolling up and down it will appear. Is there some magic to the system?

If you go to your UserCP, you can select your favorite smilies and they will be the ones that always show in the smiley box.
