transmission trouble on 2nd generation

'07 Venture with 25k on it...output shaft was coming out and it broke gears. Anyone heard of this happening before? It is covered under warranty, but I am concerned and wondered if it had happened to others.

This is the first I have heard of transmission trouble with the 2nd Gen. Would be interested to know more once the stealer has an opportunity to repair the damage.

Output of the Tranny or at the angled Gear ??

 

Whatever, that's a rare failure to the V4 Motors. Some Vmax had to do repair there, but i think, the Cause is abuse.

The output shaft on my 85 broke last summer down in Calif and it took out the output gears when that happened. It is a big job to do. Youre going to be glad that yours is under warranty.

I was very lucky to have a very good friend like Rocket from this forum that did the rebuild for me and a bunch of upgrades too or mine would have been parted out.

I have not heard of this before on a RSV.

 

the entire bike, except AFAIK the clutch and brake pads are covered.

 

Read the warranty info in the owners manual.

 

Please let us know how long it takes to repair/replace the transmission on you bike.
