Sleeperhawks Mechanic Posted June 12, 2009 #1 Posted June 12, 2009 Here are some pics of a pine tree trying to go through our home :crying: http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y262/venturerider/Sleeperhawks%20Mechanic%20House%20Damage%2020090711/
painterman67 Posted June 12, 2009 #2 Posted June 12, 2009 I heard about the mini matenance day at the sleeperhawk household. Do we kneed to make time and bring the work truck instead of a bike. As of wright now I cant make it but it might be able to be arranged David
Sleeperhawks Mechanic Posted June 12, 2009 Author #3 Posted June 12, 2009 We really don't know nothing about nothing right now. A clean up crew for the removal of the tree (we hope) and tree debris are supposed to be here tomorrow morning. The adjuster may not be able to make to our house until about three days because of the intense storm damage experienced here in Columbia this afternoon. Found out from the neighbor that the storm hit after 5:15 and Sleeperhawk and I got home right at 6:00. There was a LOT of debris on the way home. Needless to say, the dining area is out of commission, that may be including the kitchen. As far as maintenance day on Saturday goes, it is still on! And that is maintenance on bikes, not the house! Just hope that the insurance company will do us right, at least somewhat!
Skid Posted June 12, 2009 #4 Posted June 12, 2009 Glad no one got hurt. Sure makes a inconvenience. I know feeling, my mother had a tree limb hit her house last week. Luckily she only got a hole the size of a fifty cent piece in her roof. The first tree was over 100 foot tall and the second tree was about 60. Now the first tree is about 40 feet tall and the other one might see 8 feet. Needless to say she doesn't have as much shade as she did have in the back yard. Glad you're OK.......
cecdoo Posted June 12, 2009 #5 Posted June 12, 2009 Thats a shame, looks like you have a beautiful house. Could have been alot worse though. Hope they get you fixed up without too much mess. Craig
RandyR Posted June 12, 2009 #6 Posted June 12, 2009 Argh !!!! Sorry to see this happen. I got lucky, when my house was new I had several pines fall over in the yard after an ice storm, but they all missed my house.
Yama Mama Posted June 12, 2009 #7 Posted June 12, 2009 I am so sorry about the damage to your home. I hope it gets repaired quickly. Thank goodness you were not hurt. Yama Mama
Pecker Posted June 12, 2009 #8 Posted June 12, 2009 Sorry to hear about the house, glad you guys were not eating dinner when the tree decided to fall. I got caught in the same storm on the highway not far from your house, got alot of hail. Pounded the ?$#@ out of my truck. Hope the insurance co. will take care of this for you.
Sling Posted June 12, 2009 #9 Posted June 12, 2009 Sorry to hear about the storm damage. Just glad you weren't home at the time. You could have been sitting in the dining room, and that would not have been good.. We're glad your both okay..
mini-muffin Posted June 12, 2009 #10 Posted June 12, 2009 Dang that's a mess. Glad you weren't home when it happened. Also glad it didn't hit the dungeon, that would be really hard to get the insurance company to fix. Margaret
Eck Posted June 12, 2009 #11 Posted June 12, 2009 Sure glad you two are OK... By the looks of the "length" of that tree, it was able to gain a whole lot of speed by time it actually hit your house..If the tree was about 20 feet closer, I think your kitchen would have part of the tree trunk in it, and that beautiful kitchen counter top that George got you would have to be replaced......... All in all, you guys were definitely lucky that you were not at home when it hit, because one or both of you could have been hit by the busting glass....... Hope all goes well with insurance man.
BEER30 Posted June 12, 2009 #12 Posted June 12, 2009 What happened to the Owl . Is the Owl OK ? Sorry to see this happen . Holler if you need any help . BEER30
autopilot Posted June 12, 2009 #13 Posted June 12, 2009 Hate to see that!!! Could have been much worse. I know it's a gigantic pain in backside, but thankfully no one was hurt. Good luck with the repairs.
Riderduke Posted June 12, 2009 #15 Posted June 12, 2009 Ouch! Glad you guys are ok. Thanks for the pictures. I'm sure that the Insurance company will do you guys right. If they don't we will have a meet and eat at the adjusters house:rotf::buttkick:

Ladybug69 Posted June 12, 2009 #17 Posted June 12, 2009 I'm so sorry to hear about your home but what a blessing you both are ok. I'll be praying for you and for a speedy response from the insurance company. Wendy
SaltyDawg Posted June 12, 2009 #18 Posted June 12, 2009 Well that SUX!! When we bought our house there were 19 pine trees on the property and I either cut or had them all cut down within 6 months. That still didn't stop the trees on the adjoining property from hitting our house 4 times in the last 14 years.
mini-muffin Posted June 12, 2009 #19 Posted June 12, 2009 Ouch! Glad you guys are ok. Thanks for the pictures. I'm sure that the Insurance company will do you guys right. If they don't we will have a meet and eat at the adjusters house:rotf::buttkick: So we'd call that a meet and eat to adjust the adjuster? Margaret

Sleeperhawk Posted June 12, 2009 #23 Posted June 12, 2009 Is that the same tree we, George and I, were talking about that we thought needed to be cut down? Glad ya'll are OK. I never liked pines too close to the house. See ya'll Saturday. Same tree, I guess the tree did not like being talked about, pay back.
1BigDog Posted June 12, 2009 #24 Posted June 12, 2009 Glad you guys are alright. Now I just knew there was a reason for me taking down all of my trees over the years.
