With all that Muffin Man was doing with the carb tune and color tune we decided to change out the plugs on my bike too. I guess once every 60,000 miles whether they need it or not. Old Hippy was able to find me a couple plugs in town, but I was short two plugs still. Hippy went around and found you at the carb tune tent with a couple extra plugs. You graciously let me have them,:thumbsup2: THANK YOU, but I forgot your name and I need to pay you! So either reply here or with a PM and I'll get you a check out ASAP! Thanks again, unknown donor, true VentureRider spirit!

did the plugs and the carb and color tune help get rid of the back fireing? and no it wasnt me i didnt get to make it just wondering since you scared the dog crap out of me when it backed fired at Bill last month

It got about 99% better. Still happens once in a while but nothing like it was. Just had the collectors replaced too. Shop can't find an exhaust leak, no leaks in the caps or lines that I can find. I can live with it now though.

Allen: Check the Y pipe for a leak on the top under the guard. I have had both sides replaced for leaks in the Y pipe. The first dealer tried to convince me it was the drain holes on the bottom. Not the case.

They were my plugs and I was going to install them at MD. However, I was not desperate to do so and I was happy to help someone else out as it sounded like you needed them more than I did that day. I'm glad that I could help and don't worry about any payment. Hope your own work at MD was successful and you had a good trip home!

I ride an 08 RSV and when i was picking it up at the dealer, a close friend of mine that is a old time mc mechanic advised that after awhile it might back fire once in awhile and if it got too anoying he could plug off / disable the emmission system and the back firing would stop. Haven't had any issues so i don't know what would have to be done, maybe someone out here on the net has more information..???

Allen, glad you got that pesky thing under control a little bit, but how are the guys in front of you gonna know you're still there?!

PS Great having you and Dee along for the ride, thanks for the help with the trailer. Hope to see you down the road sometime!

One of the first things I did was disconnect the AIS. Well, Snarly Bill did. Maybe he was having a senior moment and left it unplugged :nanner:

I've seen the quantity of assorted foods you can put away at one sitting and I'm pretty sure I know what the cause of that "backfiring" is ! ! ! Did you warn Dee about this?? Anyway, glad you all had fun. See you on down the road somewhere.
