footsie Posted June 9, 2009 Share #1 Posted June 9, 2009 Does anyone have a roadsofa on their venture, what about the good and the bad of this seat. Gregg
Freebird Posted June 9, 2009 Share #2 Posted June 9, 2009 Seats are a very personal thing, what works for one doesn't always work for another but I HATED the Roadsofa. Not only was it very uncomfortable for me but the fit was terrible with about a 3/4" gap between the front of the seat and the tank.
dfitzbiz Posted June 9, 2009 Share #3 Posted June 9, 2009 I believe the Roadsofa is custom made to fit the rider. I purchased a used (like new) seat and I'm sure it was made from cast iron and padded with gravel. I rode it for about 100 miles, 85 of them with tears in my eyes, and sold it cheap. I do hear good things about the Roadsofa, just be sure it is made to fit someone your height and weight. Good Luck!
Guest Lightnen Posted June 9, 2009 Share #4 Posted June 9, 2009 I've got an 06 RSV and I do believe the seat on it is a roadsofa very soft indeedy. This seat came with the bike and it sold me on the comfort right away. I've rode an 1100 V-Star with the Mustang seat and it is no comparison. I love my sofa seat.. Wrongway Posted June 9, 2009 Share #5 Posted June 9, 2009 I just got a Road Sofa seat at maintenance day. Wasn't really sure after the first day of riding home but when I got on it for the second day it seemed to fit just right. Hard as a rock but it felt good the rest of the way home, about 350 miles. There is a slight gap at the front of the seat meeting the tank.
Snarley Bill Posted June 9, 2009 Share #6 Posted June 9, 2009 i had a roadsofa off a venture on my rstd. i rode a 625 mile day with wrongway from georgia. was starting to squirm but could have gone another couple of hundred miles. it was okay. my favorie is a corbin. very hard but comfortable after you get a thousand miles on it. soft is not always better. i'm not a big mike corbin fan ,but he makes good seats, with memory foam. you have to break them in. i've had five corbins from the time he started making them to the one i now have on my v-star. they have improved from day one. like don said the seat others like may not be to your liking. corbins theory is farmers can sit in a metal tractor seat all day cuz it gives total support even though it is not padded i can verify that. he shapes them so your not supporting you weight with the boys and the tail bone.
