Hummingbird Posted June 8, 2009 #1 Posted June 8, 2009 and I guess I didn't have enough info. I have amzoil in my '07' Venture but was reading that Mobile 1 was more apt to quiet the whine down a little more. There were 2 types to choose from and @ $10.00 a quart I didn't want to get the wrong one. So - the question is "which mobile 1 oil do I want to get ?? " and how about the filter ??
KiteSquid Posted June 8, 2009 #3 Posted June 8, 2009 for clean oil, get the Purolater PureOne filter. To save a few bucks on the filter, get whater filter fits...... but your oil wont be as clean as with the PureOne filter.

I use the PL14610 because it's the longer of the two. It doesn't look like it will fit but, trust me, it will fit in there.
silverdeer0454 Posted June 8, 2009 #5 Posted June 8, 2009 (edited) Even tho I didn't try it THIS time: I probably will on the next change because I have noticed no change with the synthetic Lucas oil. The whine/chirp is still there. Here's the link: http://www.mobiloil.com/USA-English/MotorOil/Oils/Mobil_1_V-Twin_20W-50.aspx Edited June 8, 2009 by silverdeer0454 clarity

So I want to get Mobile 1 V-Twin and a purolater filter. I'm getting tired of the chirp so this is going to happen tomorrow. Thanks guys

autopilot Posted June 8, 2009 #9 Posted June 8, 2009 When all else fails..................buy earplugs and tell everybody "else" that it's a turbo waste-gate (with tongue slightly in cheek)! Good luck with it
Hummingbird Posted June 8, 2009 Author #10 Posted June 8, 2009 From everything I've read, I own a 2007 Venture with a chirp - the decibel level of the chirp is the only thing that's going to change. If it doesn't change appreciably then I'll start badgering my local dealer and see if I can get the clutch thing changed ?

flb_78 Posted June 8, 2009 #12 Posted June 8, 2009 Either oil will be fine. I run Rotella T myself with the Purolator filter. Before you mount the Purolator filter on your bike, be forewarned that it could mess with the warranty because Purolator does not say that the filter is made for the bike. I believe it to be a superior filter and have been running one for the 25,000 miles, but my bike is far out of warranty.
Freebird Posted June 8, 2009 #13 Posted June 8, 2009 You will not get a consensus on the oil or the filter. I use the Racing 4T and have been doing so since 1999 in my '99 RSV. I'm very pleased with it. I've used a number of filters and the last few have been the Walmart filter. I like most any of them except the Fram.
