Guest Ken8143 Posted June 9, 2009 #76 Posted June 9, 2009 So sorry to hear about this, Bob. Glad you and the co-pilot are OK. What a way to break in a new bike. And $6K damage? Wow!

Scooter Bob Posted June 29, 2009 #78 Posted June 29, 2009 $6,000, what did that include? If that was everything ahead of the neck bearings, then mine will be totalled for sure. Just out of curiousity, Scooter Bob
bongobobny Posted June 29, 2009 Author #79 Posted June 29, 2009 Actually, surprisingly, there was no damage whatsoever to the forks, triple tree, etc. It bought the "S" model which has the chrome fork covers and they all had to be replaced, along with the fairing, front tire, fender, turn signals, etc. The final aproved estimate was around $4500 after the adjuster has his say. You, on the other hand need a sadlebag, etc because yours went down, which is going to increasae the cost. I kept ours upright somehow by the grace of God...
Scooter Bob Posted June 29, 2009 #80 Posted June 29, 2009 I kept ours upright somehow by the grace of God... Great job on that by the way.. Getting ready for the ride to the shop today, I noticed the top of the back crash bar attaches to a subframe assembly that holds up the back fender and stuff. That mounting tab is bent real good, so that subframe might need replacing too. I'll be real surprised if it doesn't get totalled out. I've already been looking around for a new/slightly used one to replace her. Thanks for the info, Scooter Bob
