SapperMedic Posted June 6, 2009 #1 Posted June 6, 2009 I video taped a couple of rides a few weeks ago and was able to put them on a DVD (camcorder to DVD recorder, no computer involved) but I want to rip a few snippets of it to my computer. Any wiz bang media experts out there,, and what software do I need
Twenty7Delta Posted June 6, 2009 #2 Posted June 6, 2009 Mac or PC? on a Mac you need Handbrake, it'll rip it to a format that'll work on your computer or iPod.... You can get a PC version of Handbrake but I have never used it. I am sure it'll work gine....
Russ Posted June 7, 2009 #3 Posted June 7, 2009 I recommend Fair Use Wizard http://fairusewizard.com/lang_en/fairuse_wizard_dvd_divx_xvid_backup_tool_light_edition.html Extremely good for making backup copies of dvd's that you rent, er, already own. Lots of options in the paid version, but I've never needed more than the free one.
Kregerdoodle Posted June 7, 2009 #4 Posted June 7, 2009 Have you checked with JB??? SapperMedic Posted June 8, 2009 Author #6 Posted June 8, 2009 OK first of all you can hear my venturerider guardian bell hanging off the clutch cable, second I was riding with one hand holding the camcorder with the other. This weekend I bought a helmet mounted mini recorder that uses an sd card. It is about the size of a ping-pongt ball, mounts to the helmet and gives you up to 90 minutes of recording on a 2 gig card. Costco $99. I haven't tried it out yet but I am copying over my trip along the river road near Groene. Try this one first. Guest tx2sturgis Posted June 8, 2009 #7 Posted June 8, 2009 So whos the guy at the end? His speech is VERY short!!! I made a video last January...check it out here: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=31060&highlight=palo+duro
SapperMedic Posted June 8, 2009 Author #8 Posted June 8, 2009 I taped over a funeral for one of my soldiers. He fell asleep at the wheel and his parents asked to borrow the camcorder. they had already recorded it so I reused the tape. I wished mine turned out as nice as yours. My trip on the river road, I zip tied the camcorder to the luggage rack. Longer but not very exciting, except for the occassional bikini in the river
