GeorgeS Posted June 4, 2009 #1 Posted June 4, 2009 (edited) OK, finished pulling the Head off son's 92 MB , 190E , car. Head gasket blown. And hauled it to the machine shop for rebuild. I don't reccomend anybody ever get involved in working on those things. Then it has to go back together, Woe is Me !!! Edited June 4, 2009 by GeorgeS
Marcarl Posted June 4, 2009 #2 Posted June 4, 2009 It goes back together more or less the way you took it apart, piece by piece, or you could do it like the doctors do and just chuck it all back in, close the hood, tie it down real good and see what happens. Good luck.
GeorgeS Posted June 21, 2009 Author #3 Posted June 21, 2009 Well got the thing back together, it runs !! Still need muffler work, trany filter change, and new set of Tie Rods. But the engine sure runs nice !! 160K on that thing, cyl walls looked good. It had one burnt valve, and blown head gasket. $535.00 for the head rebuild, and new set of head bolts. Well, not to bad I guess.

Squidley Posted June 21, 2009 #5 Posted June 21, 2009 Considering how much new vehicles go for, $535 and dads time are cheap...Happy Fathers Day there pops
