MiCarl Posted June 4, 2009 #1 Posted June 4, 2009 With so many of us traveling to Maintenance Day I wonder if there is a VentureRider.Org "standard" CB channel that is used. Anyone?
Guest Ken8143 Posted June 4, 2009 #6 Posted June 4, 2009 Some where I heard something about channel 29.
Rocket Posted June 4, 2009 #7 Posted June 4, 2009 With so many of us traveling to Maintenance Day I wonder if there is a VentureRider.Org "standard" CB channel that is used. Anyone? I believe it is 29 & holding.....
gibvel Posted June 4, 2009 #9 Posted June 4, 2009 Somehow, I get the feeling that it might be channel 29 but I'm not sure so don't quote me on it because I could be wrong. Wouldn't be the first time.
Freebird Posted June 4, 2009 #10 Posted June 4, 2009 I waited to respond because I just didn't want to jump in and make a fast decision. After sleeping on it though, I'm thinking that we should go with channel 29.
Brake Pad Posted June 4, 2009 #11 Posted June 4, 2009 UNLESS!!!! its just you and the wife talking Then its just 14-1/2:doh:each
Marcarl Posted June 4, 2009 #12 Posted June 4, 2009 Mostly it's channel 29, but I hear some guys are trying to communicate on channel 9,, it's not legal, but it's easier if your CB doesn't have live power for some reason, you don't hear much and always have an excuse as to why you missed the turn,,, other than that I amazed at the consensus here, lucky there are aren't more channels.
MiCarl Posted June 4, 2009 Author #13 Posted June 4, 2009 Well, I have a suggestion. How about if we all agree to just use channel 29?
Roadhand Posted June 4, 2009 #15 Posted June 4, 2009 I am sure I will receive quite a bit of grief about this but................try 29. It works for me
videoarizona Posted October 22, 2014 #16 Posted October 22, 2014 I was just going to ask...guess it's official: 29 Thanks guys from 2009! david

painterman67 Posted October 22, 2014 #18 Posted October 22, 2014 guess I need to get a cb for the Raodstar huh
Barrycuda Posted October 22, 2014 #19 Posted October 22, 2014 This is just a guess, and others will eventually chime in, but my guess, my assumption, my gut feeling, mothers intuition, a hunch as well as last years fortune cookie told me it was channel 29. But I can't be 100% on this...
Peder_y2k Posted October 23, 2014 #20 Posted October 23, 2014 Channel 20 works better for strongest/farthest signal. That mid range between 1-40 is why truckers use 19 and 21. One is for N-S travel and the other is E-W oriented. When I travel with other bikers, we use 20 for sure. -Pete, in Tacoma WA USA

But hope is near. When you get lonely you're more than welcome to join the rest of us here on 29.

etcswjoe Posted October 23, 2014 #23 Posted October 23, 2014 Boy I am old, I remember the discussion when 29 was agreed upon
videoarizona Posted October 23, 2014 #24 Posted October 23, 2014 (edited) Boy I am old, I remember the discussion when 29 was agreed upon LOL! I can imagine! Yea, ch 20 ish would be better for range, but to many truckers out there stick around the ch's 18, 19, 20, 21, 22 area...and using their linear amps, make a mess out of the rest of us trying to communicate. A buddy of mine and I were on 22 until we hit I-20....geesh...so much noise I had the squelch almost all the way on. I think we'll try 29....that way if I do miss a Venture going by, maybe they'll yell out... Off to Phoenix this weekend....breakfast in Wickenburg on Sunday, and play around the Valley on Saturday!
