Most of the guys I've seen use the Schwinn water bottle holder you can bolt it to the master cylinder bolts and then the OXO cup (bed bath and beyond they don't leak and hold up to keeping stuff hot or cold really well)

I put on a water bottle holder from Wally World, and cut the top part off. Made a bracket from 1/8" X 1 1/4" aluminum strap for my Gen I, don't know why you couldn't do something like that for a Gen 2. Made the same basic setup for my wife's Honda Shadow Ace, using longer bolts from the hardware store.

I have the VenureRider insulated cup that works just fine. the cup holder I got has a rubber strap that is adjustable for big to small cups. Only problem is that the rubber strap tends to grab the cup when I want to take it or put it back, but if I twist the cup slightly when removing/replacing it, it goes fine. Never has come close to coming out.

The insulated cup I got from this site, holds ice for more than a day in 90+ degree heat!

They should offer it again if it isn't still offered.

I've had this black plastic cup holder on my bike for quite awhile. I really like it.

I have that same black plastic one....it's a "Barefoot Willie" I think. I've had one of those on my last 5 motorcycles.......about 20 bucks.

Yea, that's it. It's been awhile since I got this so I couldn't remember. :confused07:

I did the Wally world thing. Works great and really cheap. had several comments on it. I like the adjustable strap. I can put a large cup or a small on in it. It doesn't have to be tight just a little snug.

Wally World water holder...$4.95

Cut it off as shown in photos

Install using a "P" clamp over handle bars.

I took my "Barefoot Willie" cup holders and turned them into brackets for my speakers I just purchased:

The speakers did not come with any brackets in which to mount to the bars. The cup holder brackets worked perfectly. I then used some electrical conduit brackets and reattached my Barefoot Willie cup holders! Turned out very nice without looking junky! So I recommend these McGiver cup holders!!!

I might be interested in your first gen cup holder if your not gonna be using it. I haven't been able to find one that works on my first gen.

I have the wally world holder but went to home depot and got an insulted EMT strap (for holding electric pipe against walls or whatever) I did have to cut a small strip of rubber to put inside it to thicken it up a bit but it won't scratch the chrome. The bolt that comes with the cup holders is a 5mm (If I remember right or a 6mm if I don't). My wife is wanting to replace her cruzercaddy because it tilts and dumps stuff out it you get something a little taller in it.

Found this idea in "Cheap mans tips and tricks" here on the webs:

Take a foam can holder, cut the bottom out and slip it on your gas can cover.

Didn't cost him a dime and he loves it.
