I'm contemplating picking up a Coleman grill/stove to use when camping. It won't neccesarily be used much on motorcycle trips, since it's fairly good size (and it's just easier to hit a DQ local to the area :hihi:), but for trips where I'll be sitting in one place for a couple days. This one has both a grilling area, a stove, and a griddle to cook those morning pancakes. The reviews seem promising, and the price is the cheapest I've found it anywhere. Wondered if anyon ehere had some personal experience.

Most family campers have been using a grill like (well, not exactly like that) that for years, but this new one is very cool. Pricy, but cool

You can pick up an older model at garage sales all day long for not much.

I have one similar to that, but without the griddle. We have used it when we trailered and had room to carry it. It seemed to work great. All we used it for was to make coffee. I did loan it to some friends after our last ice storm and they LOVED it. Since it was all they had to cook on, they cooked full meals on it. Said it was wonderful and easy to use. This one looks like a great deal.

Good luck

Looks like the model you're looking at uses small bottles of propane. Its likely that it could also hook up to a 20lb propane tank.

The traditional style Coleman stove uses white gas / naptha for fuel. I've had one of those for 30 years, and my parents and grandparents also had them. As well as a Coleman lantern that burns white gas.

On the traditional Coleman stoves, one would grill in a frying pan or on a camp griddle, but not on the open flame.

I have one (just two burner, no griddle) and it works great. It will burn a long time with a full tank. They are just as effective as a gas stove at home.

I have two Coleman white gas stoves in my basement that belonged to my parents. If you want it for your motorcycle, you better have a trailer, or maybe you should consider a single burner type that is more compact.

If you have a trailer or will use it when camping with your car/truck, then get the bigger version, but consider the white gas version. A small can will last almost forever, and the fuel is available at most discount/camping stores, and many gas stations. You have to pump them up a couple times for a big meal, but they are so sturdy. I guess you could get everything in propane, or everything in white gas/kerosene, but get the lamp, heater etc all in one style.

Brings back memories of going camping when I was a kid. Also we kept one for when the power went out in the winter. Had the lanterns as well. Always found them to be reliable and solid.

I'm looking at one of the big pictures and it's a grill, not a griddle, and it looks like it would be a PITA keeping it clean. Unless you only did hot dogs.... :) I think I'd opt for a regular 2 burner and pick up one of those cast iron griddles with the ridges in it for grilling.
