Dragracer Posted August 28, 2007 #1 Posted August 28, 2007 I bought a cheap lift table off eBay, and found it wasn't safe to put my Venture on. So while surfing eBay, I found a set of plans for a wooden table that uses your floor jack for lify power. Here are a few photos. http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j204/DragracerUSA/DSCN7766.jpg http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j204/DragracerUSA/DSCN7767.jpg Here's the Venture secured by the clamp. http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j204/DragracerUSA/bike2.jpg Here's the finished product, painted, and with an over center front wheel clamp similar to the Condor. I found plans for it on the Internet. http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j204/DragracerUSA/DSCN8160.jpg http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j204/DragracerUSA/DSCN8163.jpg http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j204/DragracerUSA/DSCN8161.jpg
eagleeye Posted August 28, 2007 #2 Posted August 28, 2007 That is just fantastic! I'll have to buld one. that will be a lot better than the bench that I built. I'll just have to take it apart and redoo. I'm so glad that you shared the plans with us. If I have questions, I'll know who to ask. I don't understand the front wheel clamp though. Steve
Dragracer Posted August 28, 2007 Author #3 Posted August 28, 2007 Send me your email address, and I'll send you a copy of the plans.
Guest Jim Long Posted August 29, 2007 #4 Posted August 29, 2007 Can you post the locations of the plans in the internet. This looks like something I would like to have. I enjoy building things like this. Jim
Dano Posted August 29, 2007 #5 Posted August 29, 2007 Myself also, love to build instead of buy. Now,,, if I can get done with all the other projects...... Dan
Dragracer Posted August 29, 2007 Author #6 Posted August 29, 2007 Anyone who wants a copy of the plans, send an email to me at dragracerusa@embarqmail.com . Put lift table in the subject, and I'll email the plans. BTW, if anyone can figure out how to add a air/hydralic cylinder to this, I'd love to see it.
Dragracer Posted August 29, 2007 Author #8 Posted August 29, 2007 Didn't actually add it up, but I'd estimate around $150.00. Make sure to use quality wood. No pine wood, or anything lightweight. About how much in materials did it cost?
V7Goose Posted August 29, 2007 #10 Posted August 29, 2007 That looks super - looking forward to seeing the plans and making one myself. Thanx! Goose
loehring Posted August 29, 2007 #13 Posted August 29, 2007 Hey Dragracer, that's a great idea and something any one of us could build. An great addition to it would be a hinged drop panel at the rear for easy removal of the rear tire. The tire shop I use has one and they're able to drop the rear tire on my 1st Gen without removing anything but one pipe. Could you post the plans? I would love to build one.

Dragracer Posted August 29, 2007 Author #16 Posted August 29, 2007 Depends on your floor jack. I made an adapter for mine to fit the front pipe, and added 2" to it. The bottom of the tires on my bike are about 24" off the ground. It will go higher, but some other mode of lift besides a jack is needed. If someone can adapt a air/hydraulic cylinder, or a motor crane cylinder, that would be great. BTW guys, I appreciate all the compliments, but I bought the plans. I didn't design this thing. I'm not that bright! Looks real handie, how high will it lift?
Thom Posted August 29, 2007 #17 Posted August 29, 2007 you got mail , on the power up / down maybe a winch connected to the top part , so when it pulls the tables gos up i,ll ck it out when i git the plans
Freebird Posted August 30, 2007 #18 Posted August 30, 2007 Dragracer, thanks for taking the time to email the plans for me to post but after looking at it, I really don't feel right doing so. The plans do say copyrighted and "do NOT reproduce" and I'm afraid it could get us in some trouble here. Sorry about that.

Sorry about that. don, since the prints are copywrited, just forward them on to me. that way i won't have to "beg" for them! lol i certainly would like to see if i have the "smarts", to incorporate an air jack,to make this thing better. just jt
Stoutman Posted August 30, 2007 #20 Posted August 30, 2007 Dragracer, thanks for taking the time to email the plans for me to post but after looking at it, I really don't feel right doing so. Don / Dragracer, Maybe you could post the name and address of the vendor that sells these plans. As an engineer, I'd feel better about buying someone's intellectual property rather than copying it.
sgn Posted August 30, 2007 #21 Posted August 30, 2007 http://www.frontiernet.net/~jcslocum/MotoLift/ $14.95 for plans of lift and some extras
KiteSquid Posted August 30, 2007 #22 Posted August 30, 2007 Here is another set of plans for a table, however it is metal and requires welding. http://www.afabonline.com/table_lift_plans.htm
Dragracer Posted August 31, 2007 Author #24 Posted August 31, 2007 Understood. No problem.
