Spark plugs??

So...the owners manual says to change plugs at 8,000 miles???? Anybody else think this is rediculous,or is it just me?? Would it REALLY help me to change the plugs now, or not??What do you all do for plug replacement?

That's what I thought also, but with only 11,000 miles on my RSTD, I decided to go ahead and change the plugs even though the bike was running fine. Couldn't believe it, but my gas mileage increased 10%. Replaced stock Denso plugs with NGK. And even though the bike was not hard to start before, it now starts even better now.

10,000 miles, is sort of the average, if you ask lots of folks.

 

Or once a year, just consider it part of the cost of haveing fun.

 

I change once a year, no matter what-- ( but thats just me )

 

Stay with the Stock NGK plug numbers--- Nobody has found anything better.

 

( except the NGK Iriidum plugs ) that cross to the stock number.

 

You might notice a little better cold starts, with those. ( If thats any problem on our bike )
