big mike Posted May 30, 2009 #1 Posted May 30, 2009 I just got back from a 250 mile round trip to visit with Brad and Lonna, and have brad help me tune my carbs. (well...Brad did all the work, and this was the true reason for the visit!!) Mind you I have never met either of them in person. They invite me to their house. From the time I roll in I felt like we were old friends. They both were happy to meet me and help me make the bike tip top. Well I must say....Brad YOU ROCK my friend. When I pulled into your drive my hands were almost numb from the vibration in my hand grips. I atributed that to my pipes, as that is when I started to notice the vibration. When you were tuning them you said they were not too far off, I must say they must have been farther off then they should have been because I had next to nothing for vibration on the way home. The bike is way more responsive than it had been and now I see more of a need for the clutch kit that is coming. I think I burned more fuel......it's not your fault though.....I couldn't keep my throttle in a steady place due to the new improved performance. I'm sure I must have put a dent in the bug population since I couldn't keep my teeth from showing. I must say this is the most friendly site I have ever been associated with and the people in person are nothing short of extrordinary. It was truely a pleasure to meet both of you and I look forward to M.D. to meet many more. Lonna, Holli doesn't have any rhubarb. Hollar at me if you need anything, especially if you want me to be the guinea pig for any of your taste tests! Well I wouldn't want to have anyone here trying to lose weight have to do it.(I gave up on loseing weight when cheescake is around!) See ya soon. Thanks, Big Mike:dancefool:
Semi-retired Posted May 30, 2009 #3 Posted May 30, 2009 I just got back from a 250 mile round trip to visit with Brad and Lonna, and have brad help me tune my carbs. (well...Brad did all the work, and this was the true reason for the visit!!) Hey, big mike.......this is little mike....and I gotta agree with you. My first "fact-to-face" meeting with Brad and Lonna was in Kitchener, Ontario....my home town.....where Brad rewired my Venture's entire back end (tail light, brake light, signals, anti-theft alarm, etc)....and we were total strangers (except for a little correspondence on this site) prior to that. Next thing I knew.....I was making the FOUR HUNDRED MILE round trip from my current home in St. Catharines to the "Squidley household" in Marine City for the installation of a new set of Avon tires....which Brad had graciously pre-ordered for me...AND generously installed on my feeble-rubbered steed. (Not to mention the brake job and the replacement passing lamps!) Lonna and Brad took me in like a long lost son. Fed me....bedded me down, introduced me to several new two-wheeled friends the next day......AND took me for a little tour of the area. I am FAR, FAR, FAR from being a church-going guy......but, believe me when I say, these two folks are the closest thing I've come to in terms of the quintessential meaning of "Christian fellowship". Without embarrassing you two, Brad and Lonna, you guys ARE the salt of the earth! Best personal regards for the new riding season, Michael

Squidley Posted May 31, 2009 #8 Posted May 31, 2009 (edited) Mike, It was our pleasure to have you at our home, this door is always open to any and all that decide they want to make the journey. I'm happy to hear that your hands are doing better, although the rightwristitis can make for worse gas mileage, it makes for lots more grinnin' I must have sewn many seeds as what I reap from the people on this site is more than anyone can expect. Lonna and I both dig having folks come over, I dont mind helping anyone with anything and I'm glad that your bike is better than when you pulled in the driveway. Looking forward to seeing you again at MD....and little Mike, I'm glad that our 1st impression was a good one Edited May 31, 2009 by Squidley

BradT Posted May 31, 2009 #11 Posted May 31, 2009 I will also add a big thank you ,to both Brad and Lonna as well. I was able to slip across Friday night and have Brad help me with a few items, well Brad did most of the work and fix my boo boo's. Rhonda and I had a good time, and had a real nice ride despite how the weather mans predictions. We were also able to meet up with Lonna's daughter, Heather and Mike it was nice to meet you, but have to apologize for running off. See you at MD. Brad
Eck Posted May 31, 2009 #12 Posted May 31, 2009 I cant say anything more then what has already been said about Brad and Lonna. Great folks they are...!!!!!!!! I also feel that every person I have met on this site falls into the same category as Brad and Lonna do. There hasn't been one bad apple that came from VR.Org (well...other then 86er/ Todd......). VR.Org seems to attract only the best of the best from all over.
Sweetnothing Posted May 31, 2009 #13 Posted May 31, 2009 VR.Org seems to attract only the best of the best from all over. I agree with you 110% Eck....Everyone here is Great!!! And we have met a LOT of people from this sit!
Yammer Dan Posted May 31, 2009 #14 Posted May 31, 2009 I'll squeeze the cr**p out of him first, and then while I'll squezzin' Lonna you can have at him for a bit. Sounds like a good plan carl. When's my turn with Lonna???
