A friend of mine just bought a hypercharger for his 1100 V-star.:mo money: He hasn't found a mechanic to install it yet, but has some questions about perormance improvements. Does anyone know how much of a seat of the pants improvement this will make? If rejetting is necessary? How much this affects milage?:fiddle:(milage! you don't put a hypercharger on for milage?!) Also does anyone know of a good mechanic that he can trust this fix to, near Holly,Mi.

Thanks in advance,

Big Mike

Any changes to the intake or exhaust on a Vstar will require rejetting. With good pipes and the hyper charger and a proper REjet .. your friend will FEEL a great improvement.:12101:

I have no idea on the VStar but read a good report about the Hypercharger on the Harleys at one time. They did all sort of dyno tests and etc. and found absolutely NO performance increases. They do look good though. :)

I'm not sure its the Hyper charger or just a better air flow going in. I did a home built intake on my V star.. Rejetted the carbs... and installed a good set of long shot pipes and it was a VERY good increase in power.

I don't remember the details on Jet sizes .... But it was wort the effort for sure.

I had an 01 Vstar 1100. I put on the Baron's BAK kit with the Barons carb kit, Roadhouse complete exhaust system (2 into 1 style). It was dyno tuned. The dyno showed about a 20% increase in horsepower and torque on before and after runs. The seat of my pants really enjoyed the new performance. I have read that the hypercharger is difficult to get the carbs right, which is why I went with the Barons BAK which includes the complete carb kit for the BAK. :080402gudl_prv:

it'll increase it about 10-20% based on what all you do to it and how it set up. you also need to install a dyna tech ign box to really do it right and get the max out of the upgrade.. i have the bak kit with pod breathers and dyna ign box and had it up to 115mph with some throttle left when i had to back off of it. go to this web site for more imfo http://forums.delphiforums.com/yamaha1100/start
