silverdeer0454 Posted May 29, 2009 #1 Posted May 29, 2009 Just curious, I noticed many members have the weather underground personal weather station stickers on their threads. How do I add that? I have a personal weather station here on Camano Island WA that provides excellent weather info, http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=KWACAMAN6
gibvel Posted May 29, 2009 #2 Posted May 29, 2009 Click user CP just to the top left of your post. Click "Edit Signature". Once there scoll to the bottom to the "Upload signature picture. Go to the link you posted and click on "Add PWS stickers to your website". Pick the sticker you want and copy the URL (most of those suckers are really large but I couldn't find a way to get stickers that are more like the others here use.) NOTE: Found a way to get stickers more like most use here. Try this page: http://www.wunderground.com/geo/BannerPromo/US/WA/Camano_Island.html find the sticker you want click it, copy the lines of HTML code they tell you to and come back and put it in the URL line in the Venture Rider site. Click the "save signature" button and that should do it
slick97spirit Posted May 31, 2009 #4 Posted May 31, 2009 (edited) giving mine a try, but dang if I can get it to work. I've copied & pasted every way I know how. Every time it says invalid file Edited May 31, 2009 by slick97spirit tried everything I can think of
gibvel Posted May 31, 2009 #5 Posted May 31, 2009 I believe I heard that you can only have one picture posted in your signature at a time. So, with your map posted, I don't think you can post anything else. Not 100% sure on that but, I believe, that's what I read on here once.
slick97spirit Posted May 31, 2009 #6 Posted May 31, 2009 seems like I've seen some with both, but your probably right.
warriorhoneybee Posted February 22, 2012 #7 Posted February 22, 2012 i've tried to copy and paste and i also get the invalid file or to long try shorting it.
SteveP Posted February 22, 2012 #8 Posted February 22, 2012 I don't have your solution, but in the interest of troubleshooting: I do have two images in my signature so you can eliminate that as the issue.
playboy Posted February 22, 2012 #10 Posted February 22, 2012 Thanks guys now I don't feel so st eh inept can't get it to work either.
warriorhoneybee Posted February 22, 2012 #11 Posted February 22, 2012 i played with it for hours i mean tried to make it work still no go.
Condor Posted February 22, 2012 #12 Posted February 22, 2012 I'm not sure, but how about copying the shortcut link and posting it in the sig file instead of the actual pic??
rstacy Posted February 22, 2012 #13 Posted February 22, 2012 Morning guys, You may want to try adding the pasted code right in the "Edit Signature" window and not the "add picture" window. It worked for me.
Flyinfool Posted February 22, 2012 #14 Posted February 22, 2012 What Rstacy said. To get the link you have to first go to the weather underground and get to the page where you are viewing the weather for the station that you want to use. At the top of the page, just to the right of center is a link "Make this Location a Weather Sticker" Click on this link and pick the way you want to display the weather. Copy the URL like Rstacy said. If you want to use the data from your own weather station you must first make your weather station available on weather underground.
Rick Haywood Posted February 22, 2012 #15 Posted February 22, 2012 i played with it for hours i mean tried to make it work still no go. Mark, They make a pill for that:stickpoke:
exrsa1 Posted February 22, 2012 #16 Posted February 22, 2012 Well, I finally got this to work for me. It seems not all the stickers are compatible or lack the right HTML to make it a banner in our sig line. I'm not an expert, so take that with a grain of salt. I could not get the banner to work from the HTML code that it generates when you click on the "Make this location a weather sticker", but right under that code is a banner with the words "Get more styles and options for your weather sticker here". Click on it. It brings up a page to build your sticker. I found that the tab "New Stickers" generated code that would not work in my signature line. But click on the tab that says "Classic Stickers". There I clicked on various stickers and they worked once I copied the HTML code, and pasting it into my signature file. In doing a preview signature, you will see errors from the forum software stating you have too many lines, but I saved my signature and all worked fine. Hope this helps Ex
warriorhoneybee Posted February 22, 2012 #17 Posted February 22, 2012 that may be my problem rick, i took to many. LOL I WILL TRY AGAIN,FINGURES CROSSED.
warriorhoneybee Posted February 22, 2012 #18 Posted February 22, 2012 now i lost my signuture,i'm not saying i'm just saying. but i did get the weather devil on.
exrsa1 Posted February 22, 2012 #19 Posted February 22, 2012 You must have overlayed your signature when you pasted the HTML. You can also get rid of that line that states to click on it. Just go to your signature edit and highlight just that line, and delete it. Ex
warriorhoneybee Posted February 22, 2012 #20 Posted February 22, 2012 thanks for the info,i'll do that.
