BuddyRich Posted May 26, 2009 #1 Posted May 26, 2009 (edited) Several members asked about something to get the wind off their knees. I have made up some Knee Wind Blocks. They are 38.00 a pair which includes shipping (40 USD if you live in Canada or Alaska). They mount with Velcro so they are removable for hot days. For cold days and nights these will really make a difference on your knees guys. I made mine up 4 years ago and was happy I did every time it got cool. Mine cut about 90% of the wind off my knees These are available in Black or smoke. I will make them in smoke if anyone really wants them like that but they will have some distortions because of the heating and bending Edited September 16, 2012 by BuddyRich
Kross Kountry Posted May 26, 2009 #2 Posted May 26, 2009 These look pretty good, can you show us how they are attached?
davecb Posted May 27, 2009 #4 Posted May 27, 2009 Let me know when the smoke are done. What color blue?? Will it match my bike???
dr_bar Posted June 6, 2009 #5 Posted June 6, 2009 The biggest complaint I have with the bike is that one space that lets cold air hit the knees, those look sweet. I think a pair would be in order...
Riceball1 Posted July 17, 2009 #6 Posted July 17, 2009 They are working great. I spent 3 hours in a light to medium rain. My legs stay much dryer. They also seem to keep my passenger warmer in the cold. Thanks for the rush ship. Bob
BuddyRich Posted July 17, 2009 Author #7 Posted July 17, 2009 Thanks Bob, glad you liked them. They will make a big difference on your knees when it gets down below 60 also. Yours were the first pair I sent out. I have another 2 pairs on order and will be getting them out in the next few days. Anybody wanting them can paypal me at buddyrich@ebmc.com.I'm pretty confident y'all will really like them come colder weather. I'm also getting some lower wind deflectors ready that are twice as wide as the Yamaha ones. They should help break the wind off your shins a lot more in the closed position. I'll post some pics later.
Aimhigh Posted July 17, 2009 #8 Posted July 17, 2009 So let me get this straight...what's going on here is that we are trying to take our minds off of the 100+ weather...did I get it right?
BuddyRich Posted July 17, 2009 Author #9 Posted July 17, 2009 Yea, Already thinking of cooler weather. After 45 days of 100+ it would be great to cool off to 94...:rotf:

Black Owl Posted July 17, 2009 #13 Posted July 17, 2009 So, without the wind on your knees, what's gonna fluff your skirt???? Wierd minds want to know.
wrongway2 Posted September 2, 2009 #14 Posted September 2, 2009 I just ordered a set today so hopefully they'll be here before the snow flies. I HATE snow!!! Looking forward to trying them though.
Bubber Posted September 2, 2009 #15 Posted September 2, 2009 So, without the wind on your knees, what's gonna fluff your skirt???? Wierd minds want to know. I like the way you think ,.......but weird don't really cover it!

hig4s Posted September 28, 2009 #17 Posted September 28, 2009 Curious if they also block any of the wind noise, make it worse, or stays about the same?
BuddyRich Posted September 28, 2009 Author #18 Posted September 28, 2009 I am making the knee blockers now for those who want some. Takes me about a week after you order them. This week I am in CA for 4 days so that will delay any orders made this week by about 4 days. They don't change the amount of wind noise you hear as far as I can tell.
skzoid Posted September 28, 2009 #19 Posted September 28, 2009 Cool! I'm very interested. Can I see a picture of the lowers you're building when you get to it? How much for a set of each? Do I need any hardware to attach the lowers? 100 degree weather? What's that?
BuddyRich Posted September 28, 2009 Author #20 Posted September 28, 2009 The replacement lowers are just that. They are only for replacing the plexiglas on the Yamaha Wind Vents. You will need the hardware that comes with the Yamaha Wind Vents
SteveP Posted September 28, 2009 #21 Posted September 28, 2009 BuddyRich: I just sent you $$ via PayPal (I'm smpst46@justice.com) and am looking forward to getting the wind blockers just in time for the falling temperatures here in Pennsylvania. Thanks, in advance!

Pay pay sent to buddyrich@ebmc.com. OH YA! Black please Steve aka Bubber
wrongway2 Posted October 2, 2009 #23 Posted October 2, 2009 My "knee wind blockers" arrived today. Very nice workmanship. Now if it ever stops raining, I'll get to use them.
BuddyRich Posted October 2, 2009 Author #24 Posted October 2, 2009 (edited) Anybody that ordered these heres some pic of what they look like installed. Remember, The tall side goes inboard. The small block goes underneath to keep upward pressure on them.Any of you that didn't get that small block of polyethelene let me know. Or you can use some thick foam or sponge. Just velcro it so the airfilter doesn't suck it in if it gets loose. Also you'll see a red line in the pics. It shows how the edge should kind of line up. Not exact but like that. Also BE SURE to clean the underside of your lowers with alcohol so the Velcro will stick good. Thanks Edited October 3, 2009 by BuddyRich
Freebird Posted October 3, 2009 #25 Posted October 3, 2009 Mine were here then I got home today Buddy. Hope to try them out over the weekend if the rain will stop. They look fantastic though.
