mountainbob Posted May 26, 2009 #1 Posted May 26, 2009 I just installed fork springs in my 86 vr in manul it says to put 400mm in forks but i have been reading here when you put prog springs in you don't put that much oil in I put 375mm in forks is that good or not need help THANKS

Rick Butler Posted May 26, 2009 #3 Posted May 26, 2009 George, If you use this proceedure, the springs have to be out and the forks have to be completely compressed. Otherwise you will end up with a solid front end with no compression because there will not be any air volume left above the dampening rod. Rick
StuD Posted May 26, 2009 #4 Posted May 26, 2009 WELCOME aboard Bob........ I see ya figgered out how to post..LOL.. When I did mine I extended the forks as far as possable, filled to 5.5" then dropped the springs in {forks still on bike} Springs can go in iether way, just both the same. :canada:
