400thumper Posted May 25, 2009 #1 Posted May 25, 2009 My wife wants the venture seat on my 2005 Tour Deluxe. Can I change this out without much modification? Thanks:fiddle:
BuddyRich Posted May 25, 2009 #2 Posted May 25, 2009 Don't know. Mustang makes a seat for the RSTD but not the RSV so there must be a difference. Check the yamaha parts fiche to see the differences

400thumper Posted May 25, 2009 Author #4 Posted May 25, 2009 I have not received the answer yet, but I bet it can be done. I have made stainless steel brackets to adapt HD back slash mufflers. I need to see under the venture seat to see how they mount. I will let you know. Thanks, Greg
pegscraper Posted May 25, 2009 #5 Posted May 25, 2009 I answered in your other thread on this. A few folks have done it. All you have to do is make some simple L brackets to bolt it down.
jemorrisonjr Posted May 25, 2009 #6 Posted May 25, 2009 ok Very Interesting...Now can you tell me if you can put a Tour deluxe seat on a Venture?? I know of a guy who wants to buy a venture from a dealer but doesnt want the venture seat...I'm thinking about a trade.....HUMMMMMM Interesting
pegscraper Posted May 25, 2009 #7 Posted May 25, 2009 Not so sure on that one, but I'd guess you probably could. I know the rubber pads set in the same places on the frame. It's only the mounting bolts that are in a different place.
poppin Posted May 26, 2009 #8 Posted May 26, 2009 I've had the same interest in trying to adapt an rsv seat to my 06' rstd ever since my wife saw the difference. I even bought the Mustang seats hoping that would satisfy her, but no deal. I never could get anyone to satisfy me it would work. I did have the guys at the parts counter try and add up what I would be out to buy the seat and backrest to try, all they did was get wide eyes and whistle. My wife has some friends who ride touring scooters, she wanted to try one of them. Bingo! She bought an 06' Silver Wing and says she likes it so much she will probably never ride behind me again. So thats how I fixed the problem, and I still have my rstd!
TEW47 Posted May 26, 2009 #9 Posted May 26, 2009 (edited) Try this webb site for pillow passenger seat. http://forums.delphiforums.com/vrider/messages?msg=3850.1 Try this one for drives adapter bracket for front seat. http://forums.delphiforums.com/vrider/start, scroll down start page and you will see seat adapter. tew47 Edited May 26, 2009 by TEW47
